DAV ECO CLUB
The DAV College for Girl , Yamunagar, has decided to start an Eco Club from the session 2002-2003. The purpose of the club is to actively engage the students in over all environment awareness.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:-
- Motivating the students and the residents of the city to keep the surroundings clean and green.
- Generating awareness of conservation of water by minimizing the use of water and its wastage.
- Composting horticulture and cow dung waste to use it as manure.
- Encouraging the use of carry bags made of Eco Friendly material like jute, cloth and paper bags etc. instead of plastic bags. Educating the citizens not to through plastic bags in public places as they choke drains and sewers.
- Creating awareness for celebrating festivals like Diwali, Holi, in an Ecofriendly manner.
- Last but not the least, organizing tree plantation programmes regularly.
