National Service Scheme

National Service Scheme (NSS) had been introduced in the college since 1969, as a part of academic programmes and since then NSS has been functioning as a regular feature in the realm of the college education. The overall objective of the scheme  is education and providing service to the community. It is a student centered Programme in which projects are implemented by the NSS volunteers in close collaboration with the community and there by it provides vast scope for the students Interaction with the people.

While interacting with the community students learn many new and innovative things. Thus the scheme is aimed at developing the students mind in a way to fit into the society to which they belong and WIll continue to live in.

Classification of NSS Programme

  • Regular NSS Activity : in this activity students undertake various programmes in the adopted villages, college campuses and urban slum areas during weekend or after college hours.
  • Special Camping Programme : Under this programme camps of 7 days are organised in adopted villages during vacation with some specific projects by involving local communities.

 Regular and special camping programmes in the community seek to awaken the social conscience of the young students.

At present The college has two NSS Units with 387 volunteers on rolL under the programme officers Dr. Gurusharan and Dr. Bhawna. Campus and regular activities are organised every year. Volunteers are engaged in various activities to inculcate in them a positive attitude towards various social causes.
